CNTBY (U.K.) presented animal data showing that its DISC herpes simplex virus type 2 may be able to act as a vaccine to prevent genital herpes, and to prevent recurrence in infected people.
In guinea pigs given a prophylactic subcutaneous injection, the vaccine gave 100 percent protection. When given intravaginally, the number of lesions was reduced 50 percent in infected animals. The results were discussed at the International Herpesvirus Workshop in Vancouver. ...
