Comparative genomic hybridization data

The University of California at San Francisco technology, which has been licensed to Naperville, Ill.-based Imagenetics, a subsidiary of Amoco Technologies, was described with data from a study in 48 women.

CGH finds excess or missing DNA on human chromosomes. The number of genetic abnormalities was greater in the tumor samples from women whose cancers reappeared. The presence of five or more copies of DNA from a region on chromosome 20 and another region on chromosome 8 was associated with recurrence of cancer. The women studied included 23 whose cancers did not return, and 25 whose cancers recurred. They were matched for age and severity of cancer, and other physical characteristics. ...
