AFBI completed a proof-of-concept trial in Scotland for its microemulsion drug delivery system. The proprietary, suppository form of calcitonin was given to six healthy volunteers. The patients also received, at a different time, an intramuscular injection of calcitonin to establish a baseline for bioavailability measures.
