DAB486IL-2 diphtheria fusion toxin targeted to the interleukin-2 receptor expressed by activated lymphocytes data

Data from a Phase I/II trial, previously announced, have been published in a peer-reviewed journal, Arthritis and Rheumatism. Nine of 19 patients with intractable arthritis demonstrated 25 percent of more improvement in indices of joint swelling and tenderness within two weeks of completing a dose escalation trial of the fusion toxin. Adverse effects, including fever, nausea, and elevation of transaminase, a marker of liver problems, limited dosing to 0.1 mg/kg/day. Antibodies to diphtheria toxin, the fusion toxin, and IL-2 appeared consistently, but allergic reactions occurred in only one patient. ...
