AtheroGenics researchers presented data from 2 mouse models of atherosclerosis (LDL receptor knockout and ApoE knockout) in which animals were fed a high-fat diet either alone or in combination with 150 mg/kg/day AGI-1067. In LDL-receptor knockouts, the AGI-1067 group gave a 43-66 percent inhibition of atherosclerosis compared to controls. ApoE-knockout mice treated with AGI-1067 showed 25-49 percent inhibition of atherosclerosis. ...
