PGNS presented in vitro data showing that PA-1420 has a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 0.13-0.2 ug/ml against Pseudomonas bacteria, which PGNS said is a lower concentration than is required for equivalent inhibition of bacterial growth by linear peptides. Also, PA-1420's MIC was in the same range against drug-resistant Pseudomonas, indicating no cross-resistance with isolates resistant to other antibiotics, PGNS said.
