Geron described a new PCR protocol that allowed identification of 12 known genes and 11 new genes that are expressed differently as cells stop dividing.
As detailed in Nucleic Acids Research, the two-step PCR technique uses longer primers, with the first four cycles at low annealing temperature and subsequent PCR cycles at high annealing temperatures. This approach improved the reproducibility of differential display. ...
