CHIR (Emeryville, Calif.) and McMaster University published results in a transgenic mouse model of human breast cancer, showing that direct injection of the adenovirus vector bearing the human IL-2 gene into the tumor can protect against a subsequent challenge with the same tumor cells.

As reported in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, mice in the model system develop spontaneous breast cancers by 8-10 weeks of age. Death occurs by 40 days. ...
