Guilford, Orion-Farmos Corp. deal

Orion-Farmos received exclusive marketing and distribution rights to GLFD's Gliadel wafer in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark. The wafers are implanted in the cavity created by brain tumor surgery. The Baltimore company will manufacture and supply the biodegradeable polymer to Orion-Farmos, and will receive milestone and other payments.

Separately, GLFD licensed exclusive worldwide rights to a polyanhydride compound from Yissum University in Jerusalem. GLFD's right to its original polyanhydride, obtained when GLFD spun out of Scios Nova Inc., covered only the Gliadel wafer for cerebral edema and brain cancer. ...
