A.G.Es are formed as a result of blood glucose reacting with proteins in the body.
Boehringer has agreed to develop immunoassays to detect A.G.E. hemoglobin, A.G.E.-low density lipoprotein and A.G.E.-serum proteins/peptides. Development of research assays is to begin in the first quarter of 1995, and with automated commercial assays planned to correspond with the projected 1998 product launch of ALTN's first therapeutic A.G.E. inhibitor, Pimagedine. Pimagedine is in Phase III trials to treat kidney disease in diabetics. ...
