Chiron, Ligand deal

CHIR (Emeryville, Calif.) will manufacture Proleukin and LGNDA will have exclusive Canadian rights for five years. LGNDA paid an initial fee of less than $1 million to CHIR.

CHIR told BioCentury that it decided to license IL-2 because the market is small and the company didn't want to build a Canadian infrastructure at this time.
