The Portland, Maine, company began installing a pilot plant at a Waterford Food Product Inc. plant in Fond du Lac, Wis. The plant, which will include a purification system to fractionate milk and whey proteins, will be used to evaluate methods and costs for purifying nutritional and therapeutic proteins from cheese whey.
