Myotrophin insulin-like growth factor-1 data

CEPH (West Chester, Penn.) presented animal data showing that daily subcutaneous dosing with IGF-1 (1mg/kg) concomitant with daily intraperitoneal doses of paclitaxel (21.6 mg/kg) for six or nine days prevented paclitaxel neuropathy in mice. Data were presented at the American Association for Cancer Research meeting in San Francisco.
To measure the effects of IGF-1 on efficacy, three or four weekly regimens of vincristine or cisplatin were given to mice implanted with human lung or breast tumor cells. Animals were given 1mg/kg of IGF-1 the day before, the day of and the day after each chemotherapy treatment. ...
