Xoma Corp. regulatory update

Marketing partner Pfizer Japan submitted XOMA's E5 for marketing approval in Japan as a treatment for sepsis. The filing is based on a Japanese Phase III trial run by Pfizer Japan, as well as supplementary data from U.S. trials.

The Japanese trial was designed to look at patients with sepsis and elevated endotoxin levels, using a kit approved in Japan for measuring endotoxin in blood. XOMA hasn't yet seen the data from the trial, which was completed this year, according to Patrick Scannon, vice-chairman. ...
