Scientists working with the company's gene gun have delivered antigen-encoding DNA into mice and chickens, and have achieved protection against lethal challenge of animal influenza viruses.

The most effective route of delivery was by gene gun to the skin, with DNA drops applied in the nostrils or trachea also effective. In mice, 95 percent survival was achieved with two immunizations of 0.4 mg of DNA coated on gold beads, according to a report in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. ...
