Eli Lilly, Takeda endocrine/metabolic news

A judge in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana issued an amended judgment reducing the punitive damages Takeda owes to $27.7 million and Eli Lilly owes to $9.2 million for failing to adequately warn of a risk of bladder cancer associated with diabetes drug Actos pioglitazone. An April jury verdict ordered Takeda to pay $6 billion and Lilly to pay $3 billion in punitive damages, but the judge ruled that the due process clause requires the reduced punitive damage awards.
