Clinical trial transparency principles proposed by pharmaceutical trade associations in Europe and the U.S. came into effect on Jan. 1, followed by the launch on Jan. 2 by software provider ideaPoint of an online portal through which researchers can request access to anonymized, patient-level clinical trial data from participating companies. The principles - first proposed in July by the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) and Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) - voluntarily commit association members to making clinical trial data available to qualified researchers. ...
