How exosomes could complement CTCs and tumor DNA in liquid biopsies

While liquid biopsies for cancer diagnostics have focused on circulating tumor cells and tumor DNA, Exosome Sciences Inc. has an exosome-based system it thinks could complement or compete with those techniques. The company has partnered with Thomas Jefferson University to test its platform, with the goal of developing a fine-grained view of how patients respond to treatment in real time.

Exosome, a subsidiary of Aethlon Medical Inc., announced the public-private partnership last month, and said the researchers would begin by testing whether exosomes from patients with head and neck cancer can provide molecular signatures that correlate with and predict patient responses. ...
