Protectin DX (PDX)

Mouse studies suggest PDX could help treat type 2 diabetes. In mice, PDX decreased blood glucose levels following lipid infusion compared with vehicle and protected against lipid-induced insulin resistance. In obese diabetic mice, PDX decreased blood glucose levels compared with vehicle and improved insulin sensitivity. Next steps include testing the antidiabetic effects of PDX in humans.
