Diversa's Yellowstone deal upheld

Judge Royce Lambreth of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia upheld the 1997 CRADA between DVSA and the National Park Service under which DVSA was allowed to commercialize enzymes found in the geysers and hot springs of Yellowstone National Park. According to DVSA, Lamberth said the agreement was proper and had no conflict with the park's conservation mandate. Under the agreement, DVSA is to contribute specified economic and scientific benefits resulting from research activities within the Park in exchange for access to environmental samples collected within Yellowstone. DVSA was up $2.75 (13 percent) to $23.50 on Wednesday. ...
