NICE updates safe harbor service

At its public board meeting on Wednesday, NICE provided an update on the rollout of the Office of Market Access' safe harbor service, which provides companies an opportunity to discuss development plans for a therapy and what would be required to meet the needs of NICE and other U.K. stakeholders. In April, NICE said it completed one pilot with an undisclosed company, and a second pilot has begun.

NICE said the service permits confidential, "complex, multi-stakeholder" discussions that include a clinical stage drug's sponsor, NICE, patients, clinical experts, NHS England, MHRA and the Department of Health. NICE said the discussions and any subsequent recommendations are non-binding. ...
