New York AG sues insurer over restrictions on HCV therapies

New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman filed suit against Capital District Physician's Health Plan (CDPHP) Inc. in the New York Supreme Court, alleging the insurer is unlawfully restricting coverage of HCV therapies.
The complaint alleges CDPHP's decision to restrict coverage of new HCV therapies to members with advanced disease is based on the potential costs to the insurer, which is inconsistent with "generally accepted standards of care and prevailing medical guidelines" and also ignores CDPHP's own policies. ...
