PhRMA suit seeks to thwart Ohio drug price initiative

PhRMA filed suit in the Supreme Court of Ohio seeking a judgment that the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) has not obtained a sufficient number of petition signatures required to send the Ohio Drug Price Relief Act to the state's legislature.

The initiative would prohibit the State of Ohio from paying net drug prices that are higher than those paid by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The VA has a restrictive formulary, and drug companies are legally required to provide the VA deep discounts. The VA pays about 20% less for drugs than other government programs. ...
