More states enter drug transparency fray

Minnesota became the latest of six U.S. states to introduce new drug price transparency legislation when State Rep. Joe Mullery (D-Minneapolis) introduced HB 2526 last week. The bill would require manufacturers to report R&D, manufacturing, marketing and advertising costs for drugs with a wholesale acquisition cost (WAC) of $1,000 or more annually or for a single course of treatment. Manufacturers also would have to report increases in the average wholesale price (AWP) and WAC for those drugs, along with profit and the total amount of financial assistance provided through patient assistance programs. ...
