Obama creates Moonshot task force

President Obama issued a memo Thursday establishing the White House Cancer Moonshot Task Force. Vice President Joe Biden will be its chairman. Obama asked the task force to present a report on its findings and recommendations by Dec. 31.

The task force does not include representatives from leading research universities or industry. It will include the heads of FDA, NIH, NCI, the National Science Foundation, the Office of Scientific Policy, the Office of Management and Budget, National Economic Council and the Domestic Policy Council, as well as the Secretaries of HHS, Defense, Commerce, Energy and Veterans Affairs. ...
