CDER launches Office of Pharmaceutical Quality

The Office of Pharmaceutical Quality (OPQ) in FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research formally began operations Monday. Over 1,000 CDER employees have been transferred or hired to staff OPQ.

In a briefing for reporters, CDER Director Janet Woodcock said she will serve as acting director of OPQ. Until CDER hires a permanent OPQ director, deputy CDER directors are handling most of Woodcock's routine duties as CDER director, she said. ...
