IMI 2 commits EUR 115M to new calls for proposals

The EU's Innovative Medicines Initiative issued its third and fourth calls for proposals of its IMI 2 program with a budget of EUR 115 million ($141.1 million). The third call is for projects relating to pertussis vaccine research, Type II diabetes, psychiatric disorders, the remote assessment of disease and best practices for patient engagement in research. The fourth call includes projects to speed up patient access to new therapies.

IMI 2's budget comprises contributions from the European Commission's Horizon 2020 program, member companies of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) and other industry partners. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, a contributor to the budget, will collaborate with IMI on the pertussis project. ...
