EU Ombudsman still concerned with transparency policy

EU Ombudsman Emily O'Reilly said she remained concerned with EMA's clinical data transparency policy despite an amendment proposed this week. O'Reilly said she welcomed the amendment proposed by EMA Director Guido Rasi to allow users to download, save and print trial data for academic and non-commercial research purposes. EMA previously proposed allowing clinical data to be available in a "view-on-screen-only" mode, according to the British Medical Journal. However, she reiterated her concerns that the policy imposes broad legal conditions on access to data and allows for the redaction of "significant information." ...
