Rep. Dingell retiring

Rep. John Dingell (D-Mich.) said he will not seek reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives. His last day in office will be Jan. 3, 2015. Dingell was responsible for several pieces of health-related legislation during his congressional career. Most recently, he co-sponsored the Drug Quality and Security Act, which allows voluntary oversight of compounding pharmacies by FDA and creates an electronic, unit-level system for tracking and tracing pharmaceutical products (see BioCentury Extra, Nov. 27, 2013). ...
