Versant launches New York incubator

Versant Ventures launched Highline Therapeutics (New York, N.Y.), a biotech incubator that will seek to launch companies based on academic discoveries in the Northeast U.S. Highline will be managed by Carlo Rizzuto, whom Versant promoted to venture partner from operating principal.

Also on Monday, Highline announced a translational research deal with Weill Cornell Medical College (New York, N.Y.). Highline will fund and incubate programs that the college proposes, with the goal of spinning out Versant-backed newcos. ...
