Lion, Large Scale and Esperion sell IPOs

Lion Bioscience (LEON; NMarkt:LIO), ESPR and LSBC raised $181.8 million, $54 million and $85 million, respectively, in their IPOs. LEON, a developer of bioinformatics and drug discovery technologies, sold 4.6 million shares at $39.68. The deal, which has a 606,125-share overallotment, was underwritten by Morgan Stanley Dean Witter; and Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown. A selling shareholder will offer an additional 79,500 shares in the shoe. On July 11, LEON filed to sell 4.6 million shares at $35.05-$41.69. The shares will list on both the NASDAQ (as American Depositary Shares) and the Neuer Markt.

Cardiovascular play ESPR sold 6 million shares at $9, underwritten by Robertson Stephens; Chase H&Q; and U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray. The deal includes a 900,000-share overallotment. ESPR was up $2.75 (31 percent) to $11.75 on Thursday. ...
