GE, Clino to develop tau imaging tracers for AD

GE Healthcare's Medical Diagnostics business partnered with Clino Ltd. (Sendai, Japan) to discover and develop in vivo PET imaging tracers to detect the accumulation of microtubule-associated protein tau (MAPT; tau; FTDP-17) in the brain, which is associated with Alzheimer's disease. The partners aim to increase the accuracy of pre-symptomatic AD diagnoses, and to potentially diagnose the level of severity of AD. GE said the partners will consider additional collaborations with companies and research institutes developing tau protein therapies. Details were not disclosed. ...
