Myriad dangles a new gene

While Myriad Genetics Inc. reported last week that it had discovered a gene involved in heart disease, the company provided precious little information to assess its finding, citing competitive concerns.

MYGN declined to give details on the gene, which it calls CHD2 (Coronary Heart Disease 2), except to say that the protein it codes for has an enzymatic activity and is involved in cholesterol metabolism, but not synthesis...
