Chiron sets a global strategy for vaccines

To solidify its worldwide marketing of its new vaccines, Chiron Corp. (CHIR, Emeryville, Calif.), has initiated a four-part plan that defines marketing and sales, customer services, warehousing, distribution and sales and billing records operations in both North America and Europe.

According to spokesperson Larry Kurtz, the plans will allow CHIR to focus on building its own sales and marketing group in North America to service customers such as managed care networks, government institutions, large hospitals and large corporations, while infrastructure-related concerns are managed by General Injectables & Vaccines Inc. and InSource Inc.
