2bind GmbH has built a service business around microscale thermophoresis technology developed by partner NanoTemper Technologies GmbH. 2bind uses its in-house MST-compatible assays and NanoTemper's MST systems to analyze molecular interactions with quicker turnaround, greater flexibility and lower cost than comparable analyses using traditional technologies such as surface plasmon resonance.

Microscale thermophoresis technology (MST) assesses changes in a molecule's response to a temperature gradient to reveal information about molecular binding interactions and modifications. A molecule's response to a temperature gradient, called thermophoresis, is affected by parameters such as its size, charge and hydration shell. These parameters typically change when a molecule is bound or modified.
