In a mouse model of AD, IV and intracerebral ATMSCs improved learning and memory as assessed by the Morris Water Maze test vs. sham-treated controls. IV and intracerebral ATMSCs also significantly reduced the number of amyloid plaques in mouse brains, amyloid beta levels and amyloid precursor protein (APP) C-terminal fragment levels vs. sham-treated controls (p<0.05 for all).
