Makena hydroxyprogesterone caproate injection: Postmarketing study data

Researchers at NIH and colleagues reported data from 657 women in their first pregnancy with a mid-trimester cervical length of <=30 mm showing that weekly intramuscular injections of 17 alpha-hydroxyprogesterone caproate through 36 weeks of pregnancy did not reduce the rate of preterm birth vs. placebo (25.1% vs. 24.2%).
