Searching the Site

How can I search for a specific company, target, product, disease category, or other information?

There are multiple ways to conduct a search on the BioCentury website. These are outlined below.

Site Search

The Site Search Box is located on the right side of the header portion of the website. It is available on nearly every page on the site. Initiating a search from here will produce results from all sections of the website. Then, you can filter those results by Archive Results, Conferences Results, eLearning Results, or Other Website Results with a single click.

  1. Enter a search term in the Site Search Box and press Enter or click the magnifying glass icon to initiate the search.
  2. You can view the results of your search on the right side of the Search Results Page. On the left side, you can narrow the results by Archive Results, Conference Results, eLearning Results, or Other Website Results. You can also filter Archive Results by publication or section.

To initiate a Site Search while using a mobile device, follow these steps:

  1. Select the magnifying glass icon in the upper left corner of the screen.
  2. Enter a search term or terms and press Go to initiate the search.
  3. You can narrow the results by Archive Results, Conference Results, eLearning Results, or Other Website Results. You can also filter Archive Results by publication or section by selecting the Advanced Search button.

Basic Search

Basic Search is available through the Archives section of the website. It is the fastest and easiest way to search BioCentury’s complete archive of articles published since 1993. Basic Search works in a similar fashion to Google.

  1. Click the chevron V or Menu to open the large drop-down menu.
  2. Click Basic Search under Archives.
  3. Enter a search term or terms and press Enter or click the Search button.
  4. You can view the results of your search on the right side of page. On the left side, you can filter the results by publication or section.

 Advanced Search

Advanced Search allows you to build a highly detailed search query. You can search by any combination of Disease Category, Product Name, Molecular Target, Company, BioCentury Publication, Publication Section, Date, and specific words or phrases.

  1. Click the chevron V or Menu to open the large drop-down menu.
  2. Click Advanced Search under Archives.
  3. When entering a term for Disease Category, Product Name, Molecular Target, or Company, you will be prompted to press Enter to select one or more terms from a list.
  4. Enter search parameters and click the Search button.
  5. Results of your search will appear below the Advanced Search Tool on the right side of the screen. Depending on your screen resolution, you may need to scroll down to view the results. A filter to the left of the search results allows you to narrow the results by publication or section.

You can also access Advanced Search by clicking the Advanced Search button while in Basic Search.
