A new framework convened by experts in Alzheimer's disease research aims to broaden collaboration between business, academic and government groups in an effort to meet the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS) goal of developing effective therapies to treat or prevent AD in the next 10 years.

The panel was convened as part of the long-term plan for developing the National Plan to Address Alzheimer's Disease, a road map required in the National Alzheimer's Project Act of 2011. Research milestones were developed by HHS in 2012 to reach the 2025 drug development goal, and will be updated following this meeting with a renewed push for collaboration across sectors. ...
