CMS's Tavenner stepping down

Marilyn Tavenner will step down as administrator of CMS next month, according to an internal email shared with BioCentury. Principal Deputy Administrator Andrew Slavitt will become acting administrator, but would require Senate confirmation to become CMS's permanent leader. Slavitt joined CMS in 2014.
