Grassley votes against HHS general counsel nomination

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) cast the sole vote on Tuesday against the nomination of William Schultz as HHS's general counsel because of the agency's "unacceptable" lack of response to Grassley's letters and requests for documents. The U.S. Senate Finance Committee voted 23-1 on Tuesday in favor of Schultz's nomination, which has been referred to the Senate floor for confirmation. Schultz is acting general counsel at HHS.
