Gilead announces new $5 billion buyback program

Gilead Sciences Inc. (NASDAQ:GILD) said late Wednesday its board authorized a new $5 billion stock repurchase program. The new program will expire three years after completion of Gilead's existing $5 billion buyback program, which has $2.9 billion remaining and is slated to be completed by September.
