LipoScience raises $45 million in IPO

Cardiovascular diagnostic company LipoScience Inc. (NASDAQ:LPDX) raised $45 million through the sale of 5 million shares at $9 in an IPO underwritten by Barclays; UBS; and Piper Jaffray. The price values LipoScience at $125 million. On Thursday, LipoScience amended its IPO to lower the proposed price range for the offering to $9-$10. Earlier this month, LipoScience said it planned to sell 5 million shares at $13-$15. The company filed to raise up to $86.3 million in 2011. LipoScience closed up $1.45 (16%) to $10.45 in its first day of trading on Friday. ...
