Stealth slips out with Thiel award

Nanotechnology company Stealth Biosciences Inc. (Palo Alto, Calif.) emerged from stealth mode on Wednesday with the announcement that it had received one of the first early stage awards for 2013 from the Thiel Foundation's Breakout Labs program. Stealth, which received an undisclosed award, is developing nanomaterial devices to measure and control biological processes at single cell levels. The company's Nanostraws allow fluidic access to individual cells to deliver or extract genes, proteins or other molecules of interest, while Stealth Probes can stimulate and record electrical signals of electrically active cells, including neurons and cardiomyocytes. ...
