Ceragenins are cationic steroid antibiotics (CSAs) that are small molecule mimics of antimicrobial peptides. Active against a broad range of Gram-positive and -negative bacteria, they are being developed by Ceragenix Pharmaceuticals Inc. as anti-infective medical device coatings and as therapeutics for antibiotic-resistant organisms.
