ASCO: Pushing precision’s evolution

How ASCO aims to educate clinicians about the utility of precision medicine

As the list of targeted therapies gaining approval grows, encompassing an increasingly broad spectrum of cancers, this year’s ASCO meeting aims to educate clinicians about how to determine which drugs are best in class for which tumors, how long to treat, and when to use immunotherapy.

The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) has titled its 2018 meeting “Delivering Discoveries, Expanding the Reach of Precision Medicine,” and plans to hold more than a dozen educational and oral abstract sessions on precision medicine to inform clinicians, patients and other attendees about the best approaches for using molecular markers in various types of cancer. ...
