Antibody company Chiome raises Y507.6M in Japanese IPO

Chiome Bioscience Inc. became the fourth Japanese biotech to go public this year - up from a grand total of one in 2010. The antibody play raised ¥507.6 million ($6.5 million) through the sale of 188,000 shares at ¥2,700 per share and expects to begin trading on the Mothers Market of the Tokyo Stock Exchange on Dec. 20.

The price is at the top of Chiome's proposed ¥2,100-¥2,700 range and values the company at ¥5.5 billion ($70.7 million). Underwriters were Daiwa; Mizuho Securities; Ichiyoshi Securities; Morgan Stanley; and seven other banks...
