Alere sales and marketing update

Alere launched its Alere Determine HIV-1/2 Ag/Ab Combo test in the U.S. as an aid in the diagnosis of HIV-1 and HIV-2 infection. FDA approved the test in August, at which time the agency said Alere Determine is the first test that simultaneously detects HIV p24 antigen and antibodies to HIV-1 and HIV-2 in serum, plasma and venous or fingerstick whole blood specimens. Alere is conducting CLIA waiver trials and plans to submit an application this quarter. Alere declined to disclose pricing for the product. ...
