Report highlights global biopharma interest in China

Ninety percent of global biopharma companies are interested in expanding to Asia, with 86% citing China specifically, according to a report from L.E.K. Consulting and BIO unveiled on June 4. Of the 88 biopharma executives surveyed, 92% said interest in China was driven by the country's expanding market, with many respondents also citing recent regulatory reforms as a factor.

But only 22% of those surveyed said China is their company’s top priority for expansion. Most U.S. companies prioritize Europe as their second market after establishing their home presence, and vice versa.
