Medicago will receive a $1 million milestone from the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) under a 2010 award to demonstrate the scalable manufacturing of its plant-expressed virus-like particles (VLP) vaccines. The milestone, the fifth under the deal, was triggered by the production of more than 10 million doses of its H1N1 VLP influenza vaccine in one month (see BioCentury, Aug. 16, 2010). ...
